University Operators

University Operators are responsible for directory assistance and Physical Plant dispatch.

Directory Assistance

Operators receive calls from on-campus faculty, staff, and students and also from the off-campus community. Operators also assist in setting up University Operator assisted conference calls and provide general campus information. Directory assistance service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be accessed as follows:

• Dial "0" from an on-campus telephone number
• Dial (517) 355-1855 from an off-campus telephone number

The accuracy of information that you receive when you call the University Operators is directly related to whether the telephone numbers that they possess are up-to-date. Consequently, please update your operator & directory information on a regular basis.

Physical Plant Dispatch

Operators handle all Physical Plant dispatch functions and receive emergency calls for all users of the campus two-way radio system. Physical Plant dispatch operators can be accessed as follows:

• Dial 3-1760 extension 611 from on-campus or (517) 353-1760 extension 611 from off-campus
